Michaela Fox is a parenting writer, blogger, mum to four girls and Founder of Girls Thriving. She began her career running events for a leading youth suicide charity. The aim of the charity was to equip young people with positive life skills through workshops and events. It was meaningful, moving and deeply rewarding work. Since then she has worked in the education, medical and not-for-profit sectors.
On her popular parenting blog, Not Another Slippery Dip, Michaela shares the magic and mayhem of family life. She writes about the nuanced experiences of motherhood, from the light-hearted and entertaining, to the more serious and moving.
Her parenting articles on a range of topics have appeared in many publications including Mamamia, Kidspot, Essential Baby, Babyology, Sunday Life magazine, Mindful Parenting and plenty more.
She also works as a social media strategist and shares her expertise in this area to help girls have a better experience online (and stay safe).
In 2019 Michaela launched Girls Thriving to support young girls and the people around them. Her great passion is helping tween and teen girls (and their parents) navigate friendships, social media, anxiety and strengthen the relationships between mother and daughter.
“When you keep your mother-daughter relationship strong, it becomes the core foundation of safety that give her the roots to spread her wings.”
